About The Jug
The world of reality has its limits; the world of imagination is boundless – Jean Jacques Rousseau.
Our imagination allows us to enter a realm of endless possibilities. It has the power to make the most mundane of tasks into a magical and marvelous experience.
‘The Jug’, both written and performed by Haydn, follows the journey of an ailing man who has confined himself to the lounge of his home, cutting himself off from the outside world. He stumbles across an item from his past, which kicks his imagination into gear and allows him to escape the harsh realities life has thrown at him. This show is recommended for 13+, as it contains mature themes.
With the incredible assistance from the Nextstage Theatre Company Mentoring Programme, Haydn has taken what started out as a 15-minute solo piece into a 50-minute spectacle that’ll have each audience member on the edge of their seat from lights up to lights down.
